Genosketch is a genogram and family tree editor. It is built so that the families you draw stay with you. This policy covers the Genosketch apps for iPhone, iPad, Android, Windows and macOS.
What we collect
Nothing. Genosketch has no accounts, no analytics, no advertising, no tracking and no crash reporting. The app does not send your documents, names, dates, notes, photos, drawings or any other information to us or to anyone else.
Where your information is kept
- Documents (.gno, GEDCOM and exported files) are saved only where you choose, for example in the Files app or on your computer.
- Recovery copy: so you do not lose work, the app keeps a copy of the open document in its own storage on your device. You can turn this off under View › Keep Recovery Copy on This Device.
- Encrypted backups and the case library are encrypted on your device with a password you choose. We never see that password and cannot recover it.
- Photos you link to people are read from your device and are not uploaded.
Sharing
Information leaves your device only when you share it yourself, for example by sending a file with another app. What happens to it then is governed by that app or service.
Internet access
Genosketch works fully offline. The only time it opens an internet address is when you choose Help › Check for Updates, which opens the download page in your web browser.
Health and family information
Genograms can contain sensitive health and family details. Because Genosketch does not collect or transmit them, keeping them safe is in your hands: protect your device with a passcode, and use the encrypted backup when you store or send a document.
Children
Genosketch does not knowingly collect information from anyone, including children under 13.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted on this page with a new effective date.
